Objectives
The Graduate School of Global Politics (GSGP) aims to give its doctoral students the academic tools, background and experience needed to excel in their future careers. The graduates learn how to manage research projects and cooperate in academia and research-oriented jobs. In addition, they also gain the interdisciplinary leadership skills they will require in addressing the significant, and increasingly complex, political, economic, and social issues of the 21st century. The GSGP aims to provide its doctoral candidates with the methodological, theoretical and practical knowledge of their area of research, as well as the opportunity to gain valuable experience abroad.
Part of this goal is the partnership between German and Chinese scholars, which this program fosters. The role of China, as the biggest emerging economic powerhouse of the 21st century, in global politics is growing rapidly. Experts on China and Chinese politics are increasingly in demand both in Europe and throughout the world. The GSGP believes this goal is best achieved through real cultural exchange and has therefore made this experience the keystone of the entire program.
The program is subject to change.
