Shiping Tang is Professor at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA), Fudan Univeristy, Shanghai, China. He is also adjunct professor at the Center for Regional Security Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS), Beijing. He has previously taught as a Senior Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2006-2009). Furthermore he was Assistant Professor and then Associate Professor at Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, CASS, Beijing (1999-2005). He was also co-Director of the Sino-American Security Dialogue (SASD) from 2002 to 2004. He has a B. A. in Paleontology from China University of Geosciences (1985), an M. A. in molecular biology from University of Science and Technology of China (1988), a Ph. D. in molecular biology & genetics from Wayne State University School of Medicine (1995), and an M. A. in international studies from University of California at Berkeley (1999). Prof. Tang has a very broad research interest, covering international relations (IR) theory and policy, political economy, and philosophy of social sciences.
