Welcome to Berlin: CGP receives delegation from Guandong in China

The Center for Global Politics (CGP) dedicates its work to inspiring international dialogue and global progress. For this reason, on April 21, we were excited to welcome our distinguished guests from Guandong in China. Together, we took the time to talk about the political challenges lying ahead.

News from May 04, 2017

Global thinking, diversity and innovation run in the DNA of the Center for Global Politics — our programs seek to set high educational standards which go beyond traditional borders. Without our many partners, friends and dialogue partners from across the world, however, it would be impossible to fully live up to this commitment. For us, this means to engage in international dialogue and contribute to a global exchange of ideas and opinions.

On April 21, we were thus delighted to receive a delegation of guests from Guandong in China. Professor Dr. Klaus Segbers, Director of the Center for Global Politics, and Sandra Rector, Senior Manager of the Center’s Graduate School of Global Politics, met with Mr. Yi Xingjian, Professor and Dean of School of Finance of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), Mr. Zhou Fangyin, Professor and Director of the Center for China’s Regional Strategies Studies at the Guangdong Institute for International Strategies (GIIS) and Mr. Chen Hanxi, Professor and Director of the GIIS’ Center for European Studies. We were honored to also welcome to Berlin Ms. Zhang Jinping, Deputy Division Director at the Department of Policy Planning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. The meeting was a great opportunity to talk about European politics in a time of Brexit, new waves of populism and more national elections coming up. We thank our guests for their insights and hope to see them again soon!
